Winshape Camp is set to return this summer to Severns Valley Baptist Church in Elizabethtown.
Camp has been canceled for the past two years due to COVID-19.
Children’s Minister Christa Clark, in a mass information email, said she was more excited than ever to organize “such an incredible week of day camp activities centered on Christ, child-centered and fun”.
The camp will take place July 4-8 and any child who has completed kindergarten through eighth grade is welcome. There are teams, activities and skills designed specifically for each age group so everyone has a good time, Clark said.
Some of the skills and activities include archery, crafts, gymnastics, painting, covert ops, wacky science, dancing, flag football and more.
The cost to attend the camp is $174. Scholarships are available for those in need as well as information on ‘Sponsor a Camper’. WinShape Camps also offers an automatic payment system that allows users to spread their payments month by month.
Since registration opened on Monday, Clark said 88 campers have already registered. She said there is no deadline, but there is camp capacity, so early registrations are encouraged.
To register, people can go to camps.winshape.org and click on Day Camps.
“When it comes to sharing God’s love with children, I’ve never seen anything quite like Winshape Camps for Communities,” Clark said in an email. “The goal is not to bring the kids to a church for a camp, the goal is for the community to show up. This is not a Severns Valley event, this is a whole Hardin County event. We partner with many area churches to bring as many children to camp as possible.
“They’re loved by an amazing Winshape team, the gospel is presented in a way kids of all ages can grasp, and the skills and activities are always beyond what we thought possible,” he said. she declared. “It’s truly been a life changing week and we hope Hardin County comes through for the best week ever.”
