One of the signs read “God sent the coronavirus in fury”. It’s hard to argue with the idea that the Big Guy might be a little upset with what’s going on on Earth. But that’s about the only olive branch I’ll extend to members of the Westboro Baptist Church, aka the hateful homophobes you see popping up at every event ever, hoisting signs that let you know you breathe badly into the eyes of Jesus Christ.

Dave Grohl and Foo Fighters are no strangers to this group, having them confronted with song in 2011 and 2015. But the two teams faced off again in Kansas on Thursday. Grohl et cie. rolled slowly past the protesters, as their disco alter ego, The Dee Gees. They brought with them not a message of hate, but a message of love, man. Just love. Here is what Grohl said on the microphone.

“I have something to say. Because you know what? I love you. I love you! The way I see it, I love everyone. Isn’t that what you’re supposed to Can’t you just love everyone? Because I think it’s about love. That’s what I think. I think we’re all about love. And you don’t shouldn’t hate. You know what you should do? You should dance! “

I cannot dispute that either. Watch the videos below and enjoy watching some of the most unbearable people living in this United States get their palaces cleansed by some of the most beloved people living in these United States.

Does this last sentence make it seem like I adore the fake idols that are the Foo Fighters? Now, throw me some bell-bottomed socks and call me a sinner. I’ll be around here, dancing.
