Martha Lee Scarboro Sledge, 78, of Elizabethtown, died on Tuesday May 10, 2022 at her home with her family by her side.
She was from Wake County, North Carolina, a retired sales associate at the Lifeway Christian Book Store, and a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church, where she was a prayer chain leader, teacher of the Sunday school and sat on various committees. She showed her love and appreciation to those she loved by giving them gifts. She was a very generous person with a smile on her face who loved shopping, having her hair and nails done and dressing to perfection – a true Southern Belle. She loved the Lord, her family with all her heart and lived her life fully.
She was predeceased by her parents, Richard B. and Naomi Cain Scarboro; one brother, Richard B. Scarboro Jr.; and a sister, Robin Kennedy.
Survivors include her 52-year-old husband, Tom Sledge; a daughter and her husband, Tanya Lee and Michael R. Radeke of Frankfort; and two grandchildren, Austin B. Talbert (Angela) and Michael Thomas Radeke.
