Fort Worth Church Opens Providing Services as COVID-19 Clinic – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth

At New Mount Rose Baptist Missionary Church in Fort Worth, Pastor Kyev Tatum opened his church as a COVID-19 clinic.

He said it was something he had to bring to this area.

“It breaks my heart that every time there is a crisis our community changes shorts,” Tatum said.

What he calls a clinic without walls offers COVID-19 tests, booster injections and infusions of monoclonal antibodies.

“There is no infusion center is 76104, area is 76104 Morningside,” Tatum said. “So we were able to get some of these individuals the monoclonal antibodies that tested positive.”

People who pass by are happy that it is in their community for their safety and for those they love.

“I don’t have any symptoms or anything, but I want to make sure I have nothing to expose anyone else to,” said Shallie Bey, who has been tested.

Doing this, Tatum faced a few challenges.

“What we didn’t know was that the demand was going to be so great,” Tatum said. “So we have a waiting list of 100 people, but we didn’t have enough monoclonal antibodies to give them the infusion.”

He was also confronted with the virus which affects those who try to help.

“We’re running out of nurses because they’ve caught covid,” Tatum said. “But we are offering testing today for some and reservations for people who will receive the boots on Tuesday.”

Through it all, he does not stop his mission to help his community.

“I think it’s only by the grace of God because we really care about our community it allows us to stay on the front line and continue to serve,” Tatum said.
