BBQ ribs, chicken and pulled pork will be served this Saturday at First Baptist Church in Elizabethtown.
The First Baptist Church Men’s Day BBQ fundraising event will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the church, 107 Bishop Lane.
According to Rev. Jelani Tuck, the money raised at the event will go to help pay for the renovations they completed at the church over the summer. Some of the renovations included new benches, new carpet and a new sound system. Overall, he said it was about $ 125,000 of work.
When fundraising, people can purchase a rib dinner for $ 10, a chicken dinner for $ 8, or a pulled pork sandwich dinner for $ 5. Meals include baked beans, potato salad and a soft drink. In-place and take-out dining options are available.
Tuck encouraged the residents to come out and socialize.
“It’s not just about money, it’s also about camaraderie,” he said, noting that they were taking all the necessary precautions to be safe during the pandemic. “This is the opportunity to meet again.
Tuck said the church will have its annual Men’s Day service at 11 a.m. on November 21.
