The First Baptist Church in Stuttgart will host the Vacation Bible School from Monday, July 18 through Friday, July 22. Activities will take place from 8 a.m. to noon each day at the church, located at 2115 S. Prairie St. in Stuttgart. Children’s pastor Andrew Skinner said all children between the ages of four and six are welcome to attend.
“We’re going to do art, we’ve got music, we’ve got Bible studies and missions. All kids love snacks, so we have snacks,” Skinner said. “We’re just going to have a fantastic time.”
Skinner said he looks forward to the time of the opening celebration held every day of VBS.
“That’s when we pump the kids. We have the music. We learn all the movements of the songs. We play Minute to Win It games. We also introduce them to what the Bible story will be for the day,” Skinner said.
Participating children will be able to watch a sketch every day.
“This year, there is a bit of science in there. I become a character that uses science to kind of talk about what they will learn for the day, giving them an illustration of God’s impact on their lives,” Skinner said.
This year’s theme is “Spark Studios”.
“It’s just about how God created us and created us for purpose. He wants to inspire us to live out that purpose in our lives,” Skinner said.
To learn more about VBS or to register, visit the First Baptist Church Stuttgart website. Those who do not pre-register can still register their children for VBS.
“Please go ahead and come anyway. It’s just a drive-thru. As parents pass, our leaders will approach the vehicle,” Skinner said. “If by any chance you are not registered, we have a place for you to stop and register so we can involve your child.”
