Reverend John McCarty joined White Hall Baptist Church as the new pastor, with an installation service held on July 25.
McCarty began his ministry at White Hall Baptist Church, Danville, in late November 2020, amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
He grew up in Delaware, then received a BA from Shippensburg University in 1986 and received an MA in Divinity from Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1989.
He is 57 years old and has been married to his wife Margie for 32 years. They are the proud parents of 2 sons, Zachary, 28, and Benjamin, 25. Margie is also a pastor, serving two United Methodist Conference churches in the Bloomsburg area.
This is McCarty’s second call to White Hall Baptist Church. He first served 20 years ago, from 1996 to 2000.
White Hall Baptist is a member of the Pennsylvania / Delaware region of the American Baptist Churches of the United States.

McCarty specializes in meeting the needs of small congregations and understands the challenges of helping a small congregation reach out to community.
He believes his role as a pastor is to help people communicate the love of Christ in meaningful ways that can impact the lives of others.
It enabled a small country church to provide safe ministry alternatives such as FM transmitter parking services, Zoom Online and Facebook services, as well as in-person visits when needed.
Worship services at White Hall Baptist Church, 699 White Hall Road, Danville, are held at 9 am every Sunday, with Sunday school at 10:30 am All are welcome.
Services include in person parking at FM 87.7 and Zoom. Service videos are then posted to Facebook.
